Applications using this product
Fiber distribution and cutting quality
In ceramic fiber paper, uniform fiber distribution, consistent sheet thickness and flexibility affect cutting. Rolls or sheets can be prepared as gaskets and intermediate layers according to application geometry. Tear strength and tensile strength are different properties; both must be assessed for the required cutting shape.
Expansion joints and appliance insulation
Thin-section paper products may be considered as intermediate layers in expansion joints and insulating details in heating equipment. For applications requiring electrical insulation, the product's dielectric properties must be verified separately. Not every paper used for thermal insulation can be considered suitable for electrical safety.
Thin-layer insulation and gasket cutting
Ceramic fiber paper is a product in which fibers are combined in a thin, uniform layer. Flexible and more rigid types may behave differently according to binder and manufacturing method. Product suitability is assessed for thin thermal barriers, separating layers and gaskets cut to shape.
Selecting thickness and binder
Paper selection considers not only temperature class but also thickness tolerance, flexibility and the strength required during installation. Binder-containing and binder-free types are not directly equivalent. Binder behavior during initial heating and the application's sealing requirements must be checked against the product data sheet.
Checking the technical data sheet and product grade
Classification temperature is not continuous operating temperature. The current technical data sheet and safety data sheet for the product to be supplied take precedence. Thermal conductivity and shrinkage values are assessed together with test conditions.
