Filling and joint materials in fire door manufacturing are selected as part of the door design. Rock wool board and suitable ceramic fiber products are assessed according to density, thickness, mechanical properties and the door system's test configuration.
Material selection considerations
A material's temperature resistance alone does not give a finished door a fire resistance class. Door leaf, frame, hardware, seals and installation details must be considered together; the product used must be compatible with a tested system or one assessed by an authorized body.
