Micanite sheet is an insulation product in which mica-based layers are joined with a binder. Rigidity, machinability and thermal behavior vary with the mica type and binder.
Use and selection information
It is considered for electrical separating components and thermal protection details according to the appropriate product class. Cutting and hole positions are clarified from the technical drawing.
Verification of technical properties
The temperature limit, electrical strength and mechanical properties are determined from the current technical data sheet of the product to be ordered. Different mica and binder types must not be considered directly equivalent.
Information required for a quotation
Width, length, thickness, cutting tolerance, operating temperature and quantity. You may also share a drawing or application photograph, if available.

Muscovite- and phlogopite-based sheets
Micanite sheets include products based on muscovite and phlogopite mica. The binder system may be silicone- or epoxy-based; therefore, a single temperature limit cannot be defined for all sheets. Rigid sheets are considered for flat supporting and separating components, while flexible types are considered for applications requiring conformity to curved surfaces.
Heater and electrical equipment applications
Suitable sheets can be used as supports, spacers, separators and insulating components in electric heaters. Flexural strength, thickness tolerance and dielectric strength must be checked together. Edge distances and hole patterns in cut components are determined from the assembly drawing.
