Micanite combi paper is a product name used for combined mica-based paper products. The layer structure and reinforcement type are clarified by product code; the exact composition cannot be inferred solely from the trade name.
Use and selection information
The flexibility and processability provided by the mica paper and backing layer together are assessed for the application. Glass, film or other reinforcement must not be assumed without reviewing the product data sheet.
Verification of technical properties
The temperature limit, electrical strength and mechanical properties are determined from the current technical data sheet of the product to be ordered. Different mica and binder types must not be considered directly equivalent.
Information required for a quotation
Product code or sample, layer structure, width, thickness, roll dimensions and quantity. You may also share a drawing or application photograph, if available.

Mica-based composite layers
In combi paper products, mica paper can be combined with different reinforcement or protective layers according to the application. Different composite structures may contain fiberglass fabric, fiberglass nonwoven, ceramic fiber or metal mesh. These options are not all present in the same product; the layer arrangement is clarified when ordering.
Furnace and metallurgical applications
Suitable composite types may be considered for details requiring electrical and thermal separation in metallurgical and furnace equipment. Flexibility, installation method and reinforcement requirements are selected together. For induction or arc furnace applications, compatibility with the relevant system is examined separately.
