Mica Tubes
Request the technical datasheet by email.

Mica tubes are cylindrical insulating components manufactured from mica-based layers. Their electrical and mechanical behavior depends on layer structure, binder and manufacturing method.
Use and selection information
Suitable types may be considered for electrical separation details such as shaft or bolt insulation. Assembly fit and loads must be checked together with tube dimensions.
Verification of technical properties
The temperature limit, electrical strength and mechanical properties are determined from the current technical data sheet of the product to be ordered. Different mica and binder types must not be considered directly equivalent.
Information required for a quotation
Inside diameter, outside diameter, length, tolerance, operating temperature and quantity. You may also share a drawing or application photograph, if available.

Wound layer structure
Mica tubes can be manufactured by winding and forming muscovite- or phlogopite-based mica paper with a suitable resin. Silicone resin types are considered for insulating components in electrical equipment, motors and furnace components. Product type and binder affect temperature resistance.
Diameter, wall thickness and assembly fit
Inside diameter, outside diameter and length must be specified together. Wall thickness depends on these diameters; assembly tolerance, ovality and surface condition affect the fit of the component. Mechanical strength is checked separately for applications requiring an interference fit or pressure. Continuous and short-term temperature ratings of muscovite and phlogopite tubes must not be considered identical.
