Mica Paper
Manufacturer image showing the product type. Dimensions and structure are clarified at the quotation stage.

Mica paper is a thin-layer mica product. Standalone paper and reinforced or binder-containing composite types must not be regarded as the same product.

Use and selection information

For use in electrical insulation systems, paper type, thickness, support requirements and binder compatibility are checked. Final system performance depends on all layers.

Verification of technical properties

The temperature limit, electrical strength and mechanical properties are determined from the current technical data sheet of the product to be ordered. Different mica and binder types must not be considered directly equivalent.

Information required for a quotation

Width, thickness, roll or sheet dimensions, application type and quantity. You may also share a drawing or application photograph, if available.

Mica paper types

The mica paper product group includes papers based on muscovite, phlogopite, synthetic mica and calcined muscovite. These types do not have the same composition; they must be selected for compatibility with the insulation system and manufacturing method. Thickness and sheet integrity are important during roll processing.

From paper to insulation component

Mica paper can be used to manufacture sheet, tape or roll composites with suitable binders and supports. The properties of the paper and those of the finished composite are assessed separately. Resin impregnation, backing layer and curing method affect final electrical and mechanical behavior.
