We can perform insulation calculations for your cryogenic and high-temperature applications. According to operating conditions, we can assess suitable insulation thickness, heat loss or heat gain and outer surface temperature.
High-temperature insulation calculations
We can calculate heat loss and outer surface temperature according to insulation thickness for hot pipes, tanks and industrial equipment. We can compare material and thickness alternatives according to target surface temperature and energy loss.
Cryogenic insulation calculations
We can calculate heat gain and outer surface temperature for low-temperature lines and equipment and assess condensation risk using ambient humidity and dew point. Vapor barriers and joint details are considered together with the selected system.
Information required for calculations
- Continuous operating temperature and design temperature
- Ambient temperature, relative humidity and indoor or outdoor conditions
- Pipe diameter and length, or equipment geometry and dimensions
- Existing insulation, outer cladding and target surface temperature
- Wind speed and annual operating hours, if available
